Minutes for June 1999
1. The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 1900 on 17 June at Club Rumors.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE
a. Treasury balance: $686.25 (Total assets: $4,684.80)
b. The compressor repair/replacement
fund balance: $2,798.55
c. The insurance fund: $1,200
[insurance is paid in July]
d. Income for May was $949.78 with expenditures of $895.78.
(And we owe $368.91)
3. OLD BUSINESS
a. The Club is looking for equipment maintenance and/or repair people, a publicist and a Safety Officer. Talk to Brian Foster or any of the Club Officers if you are interested.
b. The compressor has been repaired and we are running a test on the filters.
c. The revised by-laws have been forwarded to the CO for review.
d. Dock Swagart and others are looking into getting club patches and tee shirts made.
e. We purchased two captain dive computers as an experiment. If they hold up and are useful we will then consider purchasing one with every new regulator we purchase.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a. Elections are coming up in July.
b. See us at <http://members/tripod.com/pacific_divers>. Thanks to Stephen Vook we now have a great Web site. Join our listserv (click on the link on the Web site's first page). You can find us through most of the major search engines. We also have an ad on cable channel 53.
c. Underwater World has opened.
d. A reminder that members of PDC are also automatically members of Guam Tropical Divers Club. Attendance at their meeting (1st Thursday of the month at United Seamen's Service in Piti) entitles you to a free one tank club boat dive ($15 if 2 tank dive), gear rental is extra. They have 2 or 3 club dives a month.
e. The Club dive for June will be Saturday, 26 June. Meet at the Club at 1100. Thinking about diving Asan Cut at noon if the weather/seas hold.
f. The new Club Manager is Brian Foster. He will be on leave for a while but will be back in mid-July.
5. The next board meeting is at 1800, the next general meeting is at 1900, 15 July 1999, at the Club Rumors.
